Ronnie and David Malka opened Malka Diamonds in downtown Portland in 2010, continuing a long family legacy in the diamond business. From custom engagement rings to one of a kind vintage pieces, Malka has stunning jewelry for every style. Over the last decade, Malka Diamonds has earned a reputation for exceptional quality jewelry and customer service to match. Having honed the very best in-person shopping experience for their customers, the Squarespace CMS and Shopify storefront that had been soldered together was next. The Malka’s came to ATF wanting to give the website a polish and simplify the complicated admin setup.

The Challenge

While Malka Diamonds sought to expand their ecommerce sales, they wanted to maintain the brick and mortar store as their core. They did not want the site to feel like a traditional ecommerce site but rather an extension of their physical storefront and a digital extension of the experience of browsing a jewelry case.

Collection Focus

To get the brick and mortar feel the Malka’s were after, we designed the new site focused around collections rather than traditional product categories, mimicking the in-store layout.

Ring Builder

We built a custom Ring Builder for Malka to gather key information about what a customer is looking for along with their contact information so that the Malka team can reach out to help them find the perfect ring.

SEO Landing Pages

Malka Diamonds had invested in SEO and didn’t want to lose the organic ranking they had earned so we worked the content for those top ranking pages into the design for a cohesive look.
