Yes, We’re Platinum. No, We’re Not That Kind of Agency.

We joined the Magento Association as a Platinum Member. No, it’s not because we love shiny trophies or exclusive badges. It’s because we believe in showing up—loudly, consistently, and with purpose.

The agency world has more than enough empty gestures, performative partnerships, and “community support” that starts and ends with a social post. This isn’t that.

So, what does Platinum mean to us, exactly?

It means we’re committed to financially backing the Magento Association. That support goes toward things like improving the platform, building educational resources, hosting global events, and creating more space for developers, merchants, and agencies to collaborate, learn, and grow. Basically: all the stuff that actually matters.

But here's the thing—money isn’t the point.

You can buy a membership. You can’t buy credibility. That comes from doing the work, advocating for the community, and pushing the whole ecosystem forward. We signed up at the highest level because we’re not here to sit on the sidelines. We’ve seen what happens when community-led platforms get hollowed out by lack of community investment.

“While the Magento Association has, in the past, had a reputation for being slow to act, the leadership and action Mathias and the new board are driving now provide the justification and validation for the support we’ve invested. The ROI isn’t necessarily direct business, like it might be with other partnerships or memberships. We joined to put weight behind what we believe is core to the jobs we all do in ecommerce—and to set a bar for others to match.” – Noah Oken-Berg, CEO and Co-Founder, Above The Fray

We said yes to:

  • Supporting open commerce in a real, sustained way
  • Building a better future with the community, not just selling to it
  • Championing the underdogs, the misfits, and the folks doing the hard stuff behind the scenes

We don’t go around collecting badges for the sake of collecting badges—it’s not really our thing—but this one felt important to share.
